As a Quality Assurance Representative at MTS you will play an integral role within the company, working collaboratively alongside our Administration and Engineering Teams. Your role will be varied and require a dynamic approach towards monitoring, inspecting and proposing measures to correct or improve company processes in order to meet established quality and safety standards.

About You

You will be passionate about implementing and managing QA systems and processes, also with a keen interest in accounts and administration. You will have a keen eye for detail and be focused on consistently driving efficiencies to improve internal processes. You will have an innovative and effective approach to problem solving and finding solutions whilst upholding MTS values.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Maintaining a sound knowledge of current Australian standards, legislation, policies and guidelines, e.g. ISO 17025 and OHS Act
  • Implementing and maintaining quality system documents and records, and ensuring all other records are managed effectively
  • Identifying and managing key quality risks and opportunities
  • Ensuring site compliance to quality systems
  • Reporting accurately to management auditing outcomes
  • Assisting the Quality Coordinator to provide closeout documentation
  • Maintaining and improving business and workplace integrity
  • Coordinating and closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and rectification of non-conformances
  • Reviewing and approving quality documents
  • Working closely with all internal departments
  • Any other duties as directed by the Quality Coordinator and other members of the Management Team
  • Offering support to the Accounts and Administration department on an as needed basis

Hours of Work

  • 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday
  • This is a Full-Time Permanent Position
  • Location: Mulgrave, Victoria


  • $60-80K, Dependant on experience

MTS is seeking a Casual Laboratory Technician for approximately 15 hours per week.  This position is ideal for a 1st or 2nd year Mechanical or Civil Engineering student.

Job Description

The work will involve specimen preparation, logging and testing of materials in accordance with Australian Standards using various testing machines within a mechanical testing laboratory.  This position is hands-on and the successful applicant will be provided with training in the use of basic workshop equipment.

You will be required to perform (but not limited to) the following tasks:

  • Preparation of test pieces for mechanical testing
  • Record dimensional measurements of test pieces
  • Conduct mechanical tests on test pieces
  • General housekeeping and laboratory maintenance
  • Prepare data tables and test reports
  • Assist MTS engineers with a diverse range of test preparation and testing activities

This is a Paid Position and Accounts for Industry Placement Credits. Hours worked in this role will count towards the required 420 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with the Monash Professional Practice Requirement for Engineering Students.

Whilst this position is casual employment, many of our staff who started in this role have advanced to full time employment once graduated.

HOURS OF WORK: Flexible between 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday

  • The successful applicant is desired to hold a current Victorian Driver License
  • The applicant must be a Permanent Resident of Australia
